If you've taken an interest in online surveys, I guarantee that at some point you'll be introduced to one or all of the following sites:
- Paid Surveys Etc... (Charges $69.00, but they seem to have a never-ending "limited time"50% off Coupon.)
All of these sites are not actually survey sites themselves, but rather sites with large databases of paying sites that they make available to you. The sites they direct you to are the same ones I've been listing here--free survey sites that offer a small cash incentive or draw as a reward for your opinion. What these four big sites are not telling you, is that you could have signed up to all of these sites on your own for free! You are paying them for simply compiling the list!
Is this a scam? Technically, no.
These are service sites, and they follow through on what they promise--a database of sites that can earn you money. Legal? Yes. A smart place to spend your money? NO!
But, isn't it worth a little cash to save all the time and effort of finding survey sites? I suppose that decision is up to you, but for me, it wasn't.
When I was first introduced to online paying surveys, I signed up to a few sites I'd been recommended. Then I discovered
Express Paid Surveys and eagerly signed up, expecting even more sites and a much bigger income.
I was sorely disappointed.
Yes, I was introduced to more sites I had not heard of, but guess what? The handful of sites I'd previously been a member of have paid me several times over what I've earned at all the other sites combined! In fact, using only the sites I'd learned about through Express Paid Surveys, I haven't yet earned enough to reimburse me for my membership fee! A sad waste of money.
A Special Warning:
What is often most attractive about these types of sites, is a claim that you could be making $10-50/hour. For money like that, why wouldn't you do it? In fact, why not quit the job you hate and become a professional survey-taker?
Because they're only telling you part of the truth.
It
is a fact that you can earn a good "hourly" wage taking surveys. I have often made $5 for a 15-minute survey. If you do the math, that means I technically made $20/hour!
What
isn't a fact, is the notion that you could work as many hours as you want at that rate. There are only so many surveys available, and they often only come once a week or every couple weeks. It's a great way to earn a bit of spending money, but it is
not a viable option for a job, or the answer to your financial difficulties.
Surveys are a legit way to make money. They are not a "get rich quick" scheme. Like your Dad always said, money doesn't grow on trees, and there's no such thing as a free lunch.
